Joseph and Halina Dudzik Leadership Scholarship
The scholarship application period for the 2012-2013 academic year is open. The deadline to submit your application will be April 25, 2012.
The following requirements must be met by all applicants:
- Permanent residency status and California residency of at least one year.
- Completion of an essay on "What I hope to gain from the leadership program in which I am enrolling and how I would apply this knowledge to improving the Polish-American community."
- College sophomore or better status as of September 1, 2012.
- Attendance at two Club fundraisers for check presentation (usually held in mid-summer and mid-winter). Arrangements may be made for students attending schools outside the Southern California area.

Attendance at a personal interview. Under special circumstances, the Scholarship Committee may allow a telephone interview. Interviews are held once a year only.
- Attendance at an accredited 4-year college or university issuing a bachelor's or higher degree.
- Applicants must become student members and pay the $10 annual student membership.
- STUDENTS MUST HAVE AT LEAST A 3.0 GPA FOR CONSIDERATION.
You are required to submit the following documents:
- Your most current transcript (post high school).
- Two letters of recommendation from your college professors, on college letterhead, signed and dated, mailed directly to the Chairman of the Scholarship Committee (address below).
- One letter of character reference from a responsible person who is a respected and established member of the community. You may not use members of your immediate family, other applicants or children.
- A recent identifiable, passport-size photograph.
- A copy of your most recent tuition payment (invoice only) for the quarter or semester. This will be held in strict confidence.
- A concise, informative and factual autobiography. The autobiography should be no longer than 500 words and should not exceed 1 page single-spaced.
- Information about the leadership program in which you are enrolling
Leadership Development Programs:
Many other local universities also offer courses and certificates in fundraising and related fields.
Eligibility for scholarships is based upon character, scholastic standing and financial need. Students may apply for the leadership and the academic scholarships concurrently. In such a case, the student needs to complete the application only once.
